With the explosive growth of the crypto sector, even some governments have started to show a keen interest in the digital asset space. For instance, the French government has partnered with the crypto exchange Binance to help develop cryptocurrency and blockchain in the country
Binance CEO CZ announced the launch of Objective Moon, a new 100M EUR project that aims to develop the blockchain and crypto ecosystem in France and Europe. CZ along with Minister of State for the Digital Transition and Electronic Communication Cedric O, announced the project on November 3, 2021, at the French Ministry of Finance in Paris.
Binance has partnered with France FinTech, a non-profit association that promotes FinTech growth in the country, for the project. Objective Moon will see the development of the Binance Research and Development hub in France that will recruit cryptocurrency and blockchain talent from across Europe.
Funded by Binance, Objective Moon will create a Decentralized Ledger Technology (DLT) accelerator and an online Education Program that will raise talent for the blockchain and crypto industry talent in the country. The program will be developed in cooperation with the online education platform OpenClassrooms and crypto hardware provider Ledge, according to Cointelegraph.
“France FinTech believes that France is uniquely positioned in terms of regulation, talent and expertise to be the leading player in Europe in the field of decentralized finance,” France FinTech chair Alain Clot said.
Meanwhile, Binance said that its involvement in the project will help push the development of France’s digital assets and DLT sectors. “At Binance, we recognize the quality of French and European tech, crypto, and blockchain talent, and we are convinced that with the launch of Binance’s major operations and investment in France, we can significantly contribute toward making France and Europe the leading global player in blockchain and crypto industry,” CZ said.
