Franklin Templeton appears to be getting ready to join the growing list of financial institutions worldwide that have started offering crypto products to their clients. The multinational investment company recently posted two crypto-focused job openings, which specifically mentioned Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH).
Franklin Templeton is looking for a crypto research analyst, according to one of the company’s LinkedIn job postings published on September 1. The successful applicant for the position will be tasked with providing research on the “largest, most liquid and tradable crypto-assets” such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH).
“We are looking for an investment Research Analyst - Crypto Currency to provide research coverage for the largest, most liquid listed and tradable crypto-assets (e.g., BTC, ETH, etc.),” the company wrote. “Using both fundamental and quantitative methods, the Research Analyst will develop and maintain valuation models and keep Portfolio managers and senior executives informed of various protocol regulatory, staking and business opportunities. The Analyst will be expected to help develop and manage new products in the Crypto Asset space.”
In another job listing, the company is also looking for a crypto trader. The trader will be responsible for executing trades for crypto assets including Bitcoin and Ethereum.
“We are looking for a Crypto Currency Trader to execute trades for several strategies using the largest, most liquid listed and tradable crypto-assets (e.g., BTC, ETH, etc.),” Franklin Templeton wrote in a LinkedIn post. “The Trader will be responsible for timely execution of portfolio rebalancing and supporting work processes involving reconciliation and settlement.”
The applicant needs to be tech-savvy as the position requires expertise in programming languages such as Python, SQL, VBA, Java C++, and others. A Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, science, or engineering or MBA is also required.
“The Quantitative Trader will also bring a process automation mindset to build or work with developers to construct tools to support the platform’s growth,” the investment company added. “The Trader will add insight and develop quantitative trading strategies.”
Franklin Templeton’s entry into the crypto space can give a significant boost to the digital assets market. It is one of the largest independent assets managers with more than $1.4 trillion in assets under management (AUM), according to Cointelegraph.
