Michael Saylor has once again fueled speculation of a new Bitcoin acquisition after posting the well-known “orange-dot” Bitcoin accumulation chart on May 17. The Strategy executive shared the chart with the caption “Big Dot Energy,” a phrase widely associated with the company’s larger Bitcoin purchases. The post immediately caught the attention of Bitcoin investors and traders, many of whom believe another major BTC buy announcement could be coming soon.
The orange-dot chart has become a recognizable signal for Strategy’s aggressive Bitcoin buying strategy throughout 2024 and 2025. According to the dashboard shared by Saylor, the company currently holds 818,869 BTC. Based on market prices shown on the tracker, the firm’s Bitcoin reserve is valued at approximately $64 billion, reinforcing its position as one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders in the world.
Historically, Michael Saylor’s orange-dot posts have often appeared shortly before Strategy confirms new Bitcoin acquisitions. Last week, the company purchased $43 million worth of Bitcoin shortly after a similar post was shared online. This pattern has led many market participants to expect another sizable BTC purchase announcement in the coming days.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin price traded at $78,351.23, while Strategy’s MSTR stock closed at $177.42 after declining 5.11% on Friday. Despite the drop, the company maintains a market capitalization of roughly $65.7 billion.
Meanwhile, Strategy continues expanding its Bitcoin-focused capital strategy through its STRC perpetual preferred stock program. The company is currently holding a vote to change STRC dividend payments from monthly to semi-monthly distributions, with voting scheduled to continue until June 8, 2026.
Strategy also recently raised nearly $2.03 billion in net proceeds through its STRC at-the-market offering program. At current Bitcoin prices, the funds could potentially purchase more than 25,000 BTC. With Michael Saylor once again hinting at “big dot” activity, investors are closely watching for another major Bitcoin acquisition announcement from Strategy.
