Ripple Expands European Presence with BBVA Partnership, Boosting XRP Outlook

Ripple Expands European Presence with BBVA Partnership, Boosting XRP Outlook.

Ripple has strengthened its foothold in Europe after forming a strategic partnership with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), one of Spain’s largest banking firms. The collaboration marks another milestone in Ripple’s mission to expand institutional adoption of crypto, particularly through its custody technology.

With this deal, BBVA customers in Spain will gain access to secure crypto trading and custody services, starting with Bitcoin and Ethereum. Ripple’s custodial solution aims to provide banks with the infrastructure to offer safe and reliable digital asset management, further cementing Ripple’s role in bridging traditional finance and blockchain technology.

The announcement coincides with renewed optimism in the crypto market, with XRP’s price surging past key resistance levels shortly after the news broke. While some analysts argue the upswing reflects the broader market rebound, others believe Ripple’s high-profile partnerships, especially with major European banks, are fueling XRP’s momentum and strengthening its long-term adoption potential.

Industry experts also addressed speculation about Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, clarifying that most institutional payments still involve XRP. Pro-crypto lawyer Bill Morgan recently emphasized that Ripple’s core solutions continue to rely heavily on XRP rather than RLUSD, suggesting increased demand for the token as Ripple secures more banking partners worldwide.

This partnership with BBVA not only enhances Ripple’s ecosystem but also signals a growing trend of mainstream banks integrating blockchain-based custody solutions. As Ripple extends its technology across Europe, the move underscores XRP’s evolving role in institutional finance and its potential for sustainable market growth.
