Blockchain-based news technology company PUBLISH, Inc. joins IPTC, the world’s leading standards body for the news industry

PUBLISH, Inc., the company behind an innovative blockchain media protocol and content management system for newspapers, announced today that it has joined the IPTC (International Press Telecommunications Council) as an associate member.

According to its website, the IPTC is “a consortium of news agencies, newspapers and news system vendors that develops and publishes technical specifications to promote the easy, accurate, and inexpensive exchange of news standards.”

Notable members include Agence France-Presse, BBC News, Bloomberg, The Associated Press, and The New York Times.

Earlier this month, PUBLISH, Inc. announced a strategic partnership with Alexandria to develop an extended Open Index Protocol specification catering to blockchain news dissemination.

Commenting on the membership with IPTC, PUBLISH, Inc. CEO Sonnny Kwon, said:

“We are honored to join IPTC as a member. IPTC has laid the groundwork for news in the internet era, and we are looking forward to sharing our experience with news dissemination using blockchain technology and distributed storage systems as we work with IPTC on developing future industry standards.”
