Tokyo-listed Metaplanet has significantly expanded its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings, acquiring 497 BTC worth $43.3 million. This latest purchase brings its total BTC stash to 2,888 BTC, with an aggregate cost basis of 36.444 billion yen ($240 million). The company’s average acquisition price stands at 12,619,066 yen ($84,251.60) per BTC.
The latest move follows Metaplanet’s earlier buy on Monday, when it added 156 BTC after Bitcoin’s price dipped to $87,000. The firm continues its strategy of accumulating Bitcoin during market pullbacks, reinforcing its long-term investment approach.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin trades at approximately $87,200.
