Yahoo Finance, one of the leading providers of financial information, has added cryptocurrency trading capabilities to its platform.
The company added over 100 cryptocurrency quote pages across all platforms last year. In a blog post dated August 30, it said that it is facilitating crypto trading in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Dogecoin (DOGE) via integration with TradeIt.
The cryptocurrency ecosystem welcomed the announcement and believes that such efforts will help drive mass adoption.
#Yahoo finance opens buy and sell options for #Bitcoin (#BTC), #Ethereum (#ETH), #Litecoin (#LTC). Traders from the US can now see buttons for direct purchase and selling for three digital assets. This will help mass adoption bringing #crypto into hands of more people. #XRP— Weiss Ratings (@WeissRatings) August 30, 2018

“As the leading provider of financial data, insights, and editorial content, we are constantly looking for ways to better serve audiences on the Yahoo Finance platform,” said Joanna Lambert, General Manager of Finance & Tech at Oath.
“We first launched our integration with Trade It one year ago, allowing people to trade on Yahoo Finance for the first time ever. We’re excited to expand this offering to cryptocurrencies, further connecting our passionate community of investors with relevant utilities on our trusted platform.”
