This visionary concept combines cutting-edge technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), nonfungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and multimodal learning analytics, to offer transformative solutions to the challenges faced by traditional education systems.
Fırat's paper, released on July 25, outlines a comprehensive educational ecosystem that aims to address the fundamental barriers of access and opportunity in today's education landscape. At the core of the system is a blockchain-driven "open education" framework, leveraging generative AI systems like ChatGPT to provide personalized and seamless interactions with learners. Resources and credentials would be transformed into NFTs, all governed by a DAO.
The proposed SOEE envisions a future where education is not only democratized but also tailored to meet the unique needs of each learner. While existing open university structures align with this philosophy, they often lack the integration of AI, blockchain, and big data necessary to achieve the desired level of personalization.
