TRON (TRX) CEO Justin Sun revealed that Samsung will be adding support for the cryptocurrency into Samsung’s Blockchain Keystore, the company’s decentralized app store. To be precise, TRON will be integrated into the Blockchain Keystore’s software development kit, which will provide coders direct access to the blockchain network through Samsung devices.

The integration of TRON follows the support for bitcoin and Kakao's Klaytn added to Blockchain Keystore in August this year.

This is significant since APIs for tokens that are complying with the TRC10 or 20 standards will be accessible to anyone that has a Blockchain Keystore, Cointelegraph noted. Samsung integrating TRON into the aforementioned SDK will expose it to the tech giant’s global users, which is reportedly one billion strong.

Launched in March 2019, the Blockchain Keystore is a platform that allows users to manage private data and digital keys. Sun expressed his excitement over this partnership as TRON is poised to add millions of users to its ecosystem thanks to Samsung’s global reach.

TRON CEO marks new partnership as significant milestone

“This is a remarkable milestone for TRON, and I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to work with Samsung. We are totally in line with and will support Samsung’s vision and strategy on blockchain technology exploration,” Sun said. It remains to be seen how this will affect TRON’s performance in the crypto sphere going forward.

Leading up to the announcement, Sun has been hinting that TRON will be collaborating with an industry giant that will result in the distribution of Dapps and tokens to billions of users. Whether this transitions to reality is still a point of contention, however.

More information to be revealed soon

Among the possibilities that were spawned by this addition are developers being able to create applications running on the TRON blockchain. TRON itself has over 100 million monthly users and it would be interesting to see if that figure rises as developers try to create new apps for consumers.

Sun will be revealing more details about the partnership during the fireside chat at SDC19 in San Jose, at 12:30 pm on October 30. Hopefully, more in-depth information will be shared as TRON users are excited about what’s in store for the 10th leading cryptocurrency in the world. As of this writing, TRON is exchanging hands at $0.021 and is up by 3.20 percent in the last 24 hours.
