The Litecoin Foundation has announced Litecoin (LTC) has become the official cryptocurrency of kickboxing league GLORY.
On February 26, the foundation announced its partnership with GLORY, which has added Litecoin as a payment method on its online merchandise platform GLORYshop.com.
“A partnership with Litecoin, which offers one of the fastest transaction confirmation speeds of any cryptocurrency, makes perfect sense for GLORY and our fans as we continue to put on the fastest fight action in the combat sports world,” GLORY CEO, Marshall Zelaznik, said.
Founded in 2012, GLORY is a premier stand-up combat league, owned and operated by GLORY Sports International (GSI). GLORY events are governed by GLORY Rules, which permit a mix of several combat disciplines including Karate, Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Boxing.
With this partnership, GLORY’s US and Europe-based fans will soon be able to access exclusive offers, including athlete meet-and-greets, backstage arena tours, limited-edition merchandise and premium in-arena seating, only available for purchase at GLORYshop.com with Litecoin.
The Litecoin Foundation said the partnership will benefit Litecoin as it will receive global exposure across GLORY events, broadcast and social media.
“GLORY has a growing worldwide fan base that consists in large part of a younger demographic who are early adopters of technology and conduct much of their lives online – from consuming content to purchasing products. As GLORY continues to grow, tapping into their global audience and educating them about Litecoin through real world use cases can be powerful,” Charlie Lee, founder of the Litecoin Foundation, said.
In December 2018, Litecoin became the official cryptocurrency partner of UFC 232: JONES vs. GUSTAFFSON 2.
