According to cls.cn, Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), stated that she hopes to complete the process of launching the digital currency in about four years. The European Central Bank will soon release an analysis of the 8,000 responses to the public consultation process and communicate it to the European Parliament.
Based on the public consultation and the European Central Bank’s own work, the Executive Board of the European Central Bank will debate and make a decision on whether to promote digital currency in 2021. If the Executive Board decides to approve, the process of deploying digital currency may be completed in about four years.
