Crypto news portal Crypto Briefing on Tuesday unveiled a new digital asset evaluation product, called SIMETRI Research.

The product has been in the works for the past two years. SIMETRI will offer institutional-grade reports on major cryptocurrency projects as well as a “Pick of the Month,” providing in-depth analysis into a token that has near-term catalysts as well as fundamental strengths.

"SIMETRI uses a proven and proprietary evaluation methodology that combines fundamental and quant analysis with crypto economic principles to identify potentially profitable crypto investments," the website reads.

Commenting on the new product, Crypto Briefing CEO Han Kao said that the objective was to bring informed, actionable intelligence to the crypto investor.

“We built a media company as well as a research team because even the best information means nothing… unless people read it,” Kao said. “For the last two years we’ve been very active in the crypto community, so that by the time our research was tested, proven, and available, there would be a pool of people who knew that we never take ads, never take sponsored stories – and we can’t be bought off by crypto projects with deep pockets. Trust is earned, not given.”

Last month, Coin Briefing joined the Data Accountability & Transparency Alliance (DATA), an initiative announced by CoinMarketCap aimed at enhancing cryptocurrency data reporting standards across the industry.

According to the press release, CoinMarketCap will be integrating the new product into its own system of evaluating digital products as a result of their partnership.

“Crypto Briefing has built its reputation for independence, and their input will be invaluable for the topics we are tackling with the DATA Alliance. We look forward to how the SIMETRI team will provide recommendations regarding data standardization, which will in turn offer project teams guidance for reporting,” CoinMarketCap Chief Strategy Officer Carylyne Chan said.

CoinMarketCap has been quite the champion for transparency, as well. This was made clear with its threat to remove exchanges from its listings if they did not fix any transparency issues, Cointelegraph reports. This was back in May.
