Eightco Holdings ($ORBS) is spotlighting a balance-sheet strategy that ties together artificial intelligence, crypto, and the creator economy—an increasingly popular mix as public companies look for differentiated exposure to what they see as the next decade’s core digital infrastructure.
The Nasdaq-listed firm said on Wednesday, July 15 (ET), that as of 4:30 p.m. ET its total holdings were valued at roughly $406 million. The disclosure outlines a portfolio that includes an indirect stake in OpenAI via a special purpose vehicle (SPV), a large position in Worldcoin (WLD), a smaller allocation to Ethereum (ETH), and investments tied to the MrBeast-branded creator ecosystem.
According to Eightco, the reported holdings include: approximately $90 million in an SPV that provides indirect exposure to OpenAI; $18 million invested in Beast Industries; $1 million invested in Mythical Games; 283,452,700 Worldcoin (WLD) tokens; 16,278 Ethereum (ETH); and about $148 million in cash and stablecoins. Eightco said it valued WLD at $0.41 per token based on Coinbase pricing.
The company emphasized that WLD’s accessibility has broadened after its listing on Robinhood, potentially expanding retail reach to millions of users. Eightco also pointed to OpenAI’s public acknowledgment that it filed a confidential S-1, a step that can precede an initial public offering, though the timing and outcome of any listing remain uncertain.
In its framing, Eightco is positioning itself as a rare public-market vehicle offering 'indirect exposure' to high-profile private technology businesses—while also holding a material, transparent on-chain token position. Management argued that the mix represents building blocks for an AI-driven digital financial system, where identity and verification could become as important as computing itself.
Market attention around OpenAI has also been fueled by reports that the company is developing a home-based humanoid AI companion product capable of controlling smart home devices, playing media, answering questions, and responding to messages—an initiative that could push OpenAI further into consumer hardware competition with Apple ($AAPL) and Alphabet ($GOOGL). OpenAI also announced on July 9 the release of GPT-5.6 Sol, which it described as a model focused on improved token efficiency and materially higher productivity in agentic coding tasks. The company said the rollout has been staged and limited after requests from the U.S. government citing national security concerns, and includes an ultra mode designed for more complex workloads alongside expanded safety features.
A separate catalyst highlighted in Eightco’s disclosure is Worldcoin’s token issuance schedule. The company pointed to July 24 as a key inflection point, citing World’s early whitepaper expectation that the network’s largest three-year token unlock period will conclude. If implemented as described, the daily amount of newly circulating WLD would fall to roughly 2.9 million tokens from about 5.1 million—an estimated 43% reduction in daily supply growth.
Eightco said it holds 283.45 million WLD—about 8% of circulating supply—and described the position as the largest publicly disclosed institutional WLD holding globally. While the company’s token count would remain unchanged after July 24, it expects the pace of new issuance to slow significantly, which could alter supply dynamics even if WLD continues to enter the market each day.
Thomas “Tom” Lee, a director at Eightco, linked the firm’s thesis to what he described as accelerating improvements in OpenAI’s flagship products. “OpenAI continues to incrementally improve ChatGPT’s capabilities, and this year those changes have translated into meaningful performance gains,” he said, adding that token-efficiency gains are likely to be welcomed by users. Lee also argued that as AI becomes more personalized and autonomous, 'proof of personhood' could become one of the most valuable assets in the digital economy.
Eightco grouped its allocations into three themes it believes will drive innovation over the next decade: AI, digital identity, and the creator economy. Based on the company’s own breakdown, OpenAI exposure accounts for roughly 22% of its treasury assets, WLD roughly 29%, and Beast Industries around 4%.
On the AI side, Eightco characterized its $90 million SPV investment as a comparatively concentrated OpenAI-linked position among publicly traded vehicles. It also cited third-party data indicating ChatGPT ranks as the top consumer AI app globally, and referenced reports that weekly active users surpassed 900 million earlier this year—figures that, if sustained, underscore OpenAI’s expanding footprint in mainstream consumer software.
For digital identity, Eightco pointed to Worldcoin’s broader ambition as a global 'proof-of-human' network built by Tools for Humanity and overseen by the World Foundation. The project’s Orb devices are designed to issue a privacy-preserving World ID intended to distinguish humans from bots or AI agents. Eightco highlighted World’s stated business model in which verification remains free for end users, while applications pay fees per verification, effectively monetizing demand for trusted identity in online systems.
In the creator economy bucket, the company said its $18 million investment in Beast Industries reflects a bet that distribution and audience trust become more scarce as AI commoditizes content production. Beast Industries, tied to MrBeast, is described as having a combined follower base exceeding 500 million across platforms, giving it one of the largest direct-to-consumer reach footprints globally.
Eightco’s disclosure arrives as public companies increasingly experiment with non-traditional treasuries—mixing cash, stablecoins, major digital assets, and thematic equity-like exposures—to signal conviction in structural shifts. Whether the approach proves durable will depend not only on token prices and private-market valuations, but also on the regulatory and competitive landscape shaping AI, identity, and consumer platforms over the coming years.
