Mizuho’s J-Coin Pay app adds 7 participating financial firms

J-Coin Pay, a QR code-based smartphone payment service app launched by Mizuho Bank, has added seven more financial institution partners to the digital currency platform which was officially unveiled in February this year.

According to its press release, account holders can now link their accounts to Region Financial Institution, Tohoku The Tohoku Bank, Ltd., The 77 Bank, Ltd., The Daito Bank, Ltd., Kanto Shinhan Bank Japan, Region Financial Institution, Chubu The Fukui Bank, Ltd., Kinki The Nanto Bank, Ltd., and Kyushu The Oita Bank, Ltd.

Launched on March 01, J-Coin Pay enables customers to make payments, send and receive transfers, and conduct other financial transactions using their mobile phones. Clients can also use the app to move funds between J-Coin Pay accounts and other deposit accounts at their respective banks without zero charges.

With the latest additions, Mizuho Bank’s J-Coin Pay, which is available on both iOS and Android, now has a total of 57 member banks. The announcement further revealed that more financial firms and affiliate merchants will be added soon.

Meanwhile, payments firm Square has expanded the features of its Cash App to support bitcoin deposits, allowing deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.

Notably, while other platforms are expanding, peer-to-peer payment network company Circle chose the opposite way, ending support for its mobile app Circle Pay to develop new crypto financial services.
