In a move to encourage blockchain literacy across public offices, China's Communist Party has published an explainer for officials and members, CoinDesk reported referring to a report from the Daily.

The book, entitled "Blockchain – A Guide for Officials", starts off with an introduction of blockchain – its origin and features. It also reflects on the current and potential applications and challenges of the technology.

With this, the government is seeking to help officials better understand the concept of blockchain technology as part of its larger efforts to encourage the adoption of the technology in the country.

"The biggest impact of blockchain lies in its operation mechanism ... which seeks to achieve consensus as a way to govern a community. It offers us a brand new angle to think about and resolve different problems,” Ye Zhenzhen, head of People's Daily, wrote in the book.

China has been actively making efforts to boost blockchain adoption in the country. In May, reports suggested that the government is working on national standards for blockchain technology to foster the use of the technology in the country.

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is also exploring the ways in which it can accelerate blockchain adoption, China Money Network reported last week citing a local media report as the source.

Earlier this year, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a subsidiary of MIIT, released a report outlining the top 10 global blockchain industry trends. MIIT, on the other hand, published a white paper on the country’s blockchain industry, as well as its first cryptocurrency rankings.
