About $37.3 million in USD Coin (USDC) remained in Ethereum wallets linked to attackers as of Thursday, Nov. 5, after $126 million was withdrawn from three exchanges earlier in the week.

Kraken, Crypto.com and OKX were the exchanges involved, with withdrawals recorded on Nov. 1 and 2. The $37.3 million figure is the balance still in attacker-linked Ethereum wallets at the later cutoff.

Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, a French banking group, said the attacker gained access through a service provider’s platform, then used the bank’s own account to send funds to other banks. Those funds may have been converted into cryptocurrency after the transfers.

The bank denied that its online bank Fortuneo was the point of entry, and said no customer accounts were used and customers suffered no financial loss. It did not confirm a $133 million figure, while saying the amount was broadly in range.

The bank’s account describes the reported access route, while the on-chain figures distinguish the initial exchange withdrawals from the later balance in linked wallets.
