The Optimism Foundation and Uniswap Labs proposed an interoperability set connecting OP Mainnet and Unichain, with its initial release focused on native Ether transfers between the networks. The proposal would establish a shared interoperability arrangement for the two chains, with native Ether (ETH) transfers as its first stated focus.

The groups outlined the proposal for discussion in an Oct. 22 forum post. They said the chains would join the common set “subject to final technical readiness and governance approval.”

The proposal is not an approved activation. Any move forward depends on technical readiness and governance approval, and the post gives no activation date.
