Anthropic is preparing a Claude.ai update for U.S. users that will tailor voting guidance to each state before the Nov. 3 midterm election in 2026.

Planned for later in October, the feature will answer practical questions such as where to vote and what identification to bring. The nonprofit Democracy Works compiles, verifies and standardizes public election information from state and local offices for the guidance.

For election-night questions and those in the following days, Claude is expected to show the most recent official tally or results available.

The update builds on Anthropic and Democracy Works’ partnership, which began in 2024. A banner linking to Democracy Works’ TurboVote will continue to appear for people seeking information about voter registration, polling locations or election dates.
