Kaspa’s KAS Holds Near $0.04 After Toccata Upgrade
KAS was priced at $0.04021 in one 24-hour snapshot, while the June 30, 2026, upgrade added covenants and native zero-knowledge verification.

Kaspa (KAS) was priced near $0.04021 after a 7.1% 24-hour decline in one market snapshot, keeping the token below $0.05 as traders assessed the network’s expanded functionality after the Toccata upgrade.
That snapshot showed a 24-hour range of $0.03982 to $0.04389. It also placed Kaspa’s market capitalization near $1.115 billion, spot trading volume near $16.31 million and perpetual-futures open interest near $76.998 million.
Separate historical readings showed KAS at $0.039833 on Oct. 8, down 1.88%, and at $0.040597 on Oct. 7, down 6.01%. The different price, percentage and volume figures reflect separate measurement windows and timestamps rather than a single market reading.
Historical data for Oct. 7 placed Kaspa’s market capitalization at $1,199,479,790 and trading volume at $11,432,942. Those figures differ from the other snapshot, which listed market capitalization near $1.115 billion and spot volume near $16.31 million.
Toccata went live on Kaspa’s mainnet June 30, 2026. The layer-1 upgrade added programmable unspent transaction outputs through covenants, transaction introspection, native zero-knowledge verification and sequencing support for based applications.
Covenants let transaction outputs carry spending conditions and state-transition rules. Native zero-knowledge verification allows applications to verify proofs directly on the network. Full vProgs remain a future direction, while active improvement proposals include KIP-16, KIP-17, KIP-20 and KIP-21.
The upgrade expands what Kaspa can support, but available figures do not show measurable gains in application activity, transaction demand or fee revenue. A move back to $0.05 remains a market scenario rather than a confirmed forecast.
Earlier coverage examined the gap between KAS’s price performance and selected network-activity measures, including a decline in daily active users from 36,570 to about 7,910 across the comparison period.
