Bitcoin (BTC) short positions worth $19.56 million were liquidated in the hour ending at 11:45 p.m. ET Nov. 4 (04:45 UTC Nov. 5), while BTC rose 1.23%.

Liquidations totaled $19.58 million across Binance, Bybit and OKX. Short positions made up $19.56 million of that amount; long positions accounted for $20,000.

BTC moved from $78,426 to $79,393 during the same hour, a $967 gain. The tally covers only those three exchanges and is not a market-wide total.

A short position is a bet that an asset’s price will fall, and liquidation is the forced closing of such a position. The figures show short-side closures accounted for nearly all reported liquidations during the hour, when Bitcoin’s price increased. That means the $19.56 million short figure was nearly the full $19.58 million tally, with long liquidations making up the remaining $20,000. Both liquidation totals and the price change refer to the same one-hour window ending at the 11:45 p.m. ET cutoff.
