Santiment Says Bitcoin Above $79,000 Could Diverge From Bearish Mood
Bitcoin’s bullish-to-bearish comment ratio fell to about 0.51 from 1.8 on Oct. 20 as bearish commentary became dominant.

Bitcoin (BTC) social media mood has shifted sharply bearish over two weeks, while Santiment says a price above $79,000 would conflict with that sentiment if pessimism continues.
The bullish-to-bearish comment ratio fell to about 0.51 from roughly 1.8 on Oct. 20. A reading below 1 means bearish comments outnumber bullish ones. Santiment said sentiment around Bitcoin and most altcoins had turned pessimistic.
Santiment linked growing retail concern to uncertainty surrounding the U.S. midterm elections. It said extremely negative sentiment can precede a move in the opposite direction. A price above $79,000 while bearish commentary continues would be a potential sign that Bitcoin’s price is diverging from retail expectations, the firm said.
Bitcoin had already traded above $79,000 on Binance on Nov. 4, reaching $79,393 at 9:45 a.m. ET. Ten minutes later, a Binance spot quote of $79,200 was recorded.
Santiment’s signal was conditional: it described the price level as a possible divergence only if bearish commentary persisted, not as confirmation that price and sentiment had already diverged.
