BTC was up 2.57% over 24 hours, while a three-exchange tally recorded $20,000 in long liquidations during the same hour.

Bitcoin (BTC) rose 1.23% in the hour through 9:45 a.m. ET (14:45 UTC) Wednesday to $79,393 on Binance's BTC/USDT spot market.
The quote was up $967 from $78,426 an hour earlier, while BTC gained 2.57% over 24 hours. The $79,393 figure is a spot quote at one observation time, rather than an average across exchanges. The 1.23% move measures the preceding hour, and the 24-hour change compares the quote with its level one day earlier.
Across Binance, Bybit and OKX, short liquidations totaled $19.56 million and long liquidations totaled $20,000 during the same one-hour window. The liquidation totals combine activity on the three exchanges and are distinct from the Binance-only spot quote. Bitcoin ranked first among crypto assets by market capitalization, at about $1.573 trillion. Short liquidations exceeded long liquidations by $19.54 million during the measured period.
