Starknet’s Layer 1 Research Poll Closes Oct. 22 After STRK Pullback
A vote in favor would begin research and lead to further proposals and polls, without approving a network transition.

Starknet (STRK) holders are voting in a nonbinding poll closing Oct. 22 on whether the Ethereum Layer 2 network should research becoming an independent Layer 1 after the token’s October pullback.
Starknet raised the possibility of becoming an independent Layer 1 on Oct. 8, before STRK’s sharp rally and subsequent retreat.
STRK had risen 122% from Oct. 8 to Oct. 11 before falling nearly 30% from its Oct. 11 peak by Oct. 13. Active addresses dropped 63% and new-wallet counts fell 81% between Oct. 11 and Oct. 13.
Starknet currently operates as a Layer 2 network on Ethereum. Its nonbinding poll asks STRK holders whether to research becoming an independent Layer 1. A vote in favor would begin research and lead to further proposals and polls; it would not approve a network transition. The poll closes Oct. 22.
