Aave V4’s Base equities market had 144 wallets borrowing USD Coin (USDC) in figures published Oct. 17, up from eight on launch day, as tokenized U.S. stocks backed the loans.

Those wallets had put up $9 million in tokenized-stock collateral against $3.8 million in USDC loans. A wallet count does not establish how many distinct people used the market.

The dedicated Equities Hub accepts seven Coinbase tokenized equities tied to Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla. The tokens can secure USDC borrowing but cannot themselves be borrowed through the market. The market launched on Base Sept. 25, with access limited to eligible non-U.S. persons in permitted jurisdictions; U.S. persons are excluded.

Each token represents a certificate issued by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd. Alpaca Securities LLC holds the shares backing the certificates in segregated custody.

Chainlink’s equity feeds publish from Sunday at 8 p.m. ET (Monday 00:00 UTC) through Friday at 8 p.m. ET (Saturday 00:00 UTC). The last published value carries through weekends and U.S. market holidays.
