U.S. Spot Bitcoin, Ether ETFs Suffer $648 Million in Outflows

Bitcoin ETFs lost $487 million and Ether ETFs lost $161 million on Oct. 7, while a MakerDAO legacy auction contract exploit drained about 200 ETH.

U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds recorded a combined $648 million in net outflows on Oct. 7, while a separate exploit drained about 200 ETH from a legacy MakerDAO auction contract.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs accounted for $487 million of the withdrawals. BlackRock’s IBIT led individual fund outflows at $208 million.

Spot Ether ETFs lost $161 million and have now posted net outflows for seven consecutive days.

The MakerDAO incident involved roughly 200 ETH, valued at more than $500,000.
