U.S. core personal consumption expenditures inflation rose 3% year over year in August, below the 3.3% expectation and shaping expectations for the Federal Reserve’s rate-cut path and crypto markets.

The previous figure was revised from 3.3% to 3%, bringing the latest result in line with the revised prior reading.

The data was released Sept. 30 and is shaping expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts and crypto markets.
