A $2.91 million long position in Ether (ETH) was liquidated in a single event on Binance’s perpetual futures market at $2,679 at 11:24 a.m. ET (15:24 UTC) on Sept. 29.

A long position benefits from rising prices, and it can be forcibly closed when the market moves against the trader far enough to meet the exchange’s liquidation conditions.
