XRP is trading near $1.29 after a steep correction pushed its two-week Relative Strength Index (RSI) to the lowest level recorded in the cryptocurrency’s 13-year trading history. The extreme oversold signal has fueled debate over whether XRP is approaching a major cycle bottom or remains vulnerable to further losses.
Crypto analyst Cryptollica highlighted that XRP’s two-week RSI has fallen to around 33.5, below levels reached during the 2018 bear market, the COVID-driven crash in 2020 and the 2022 crypto downturn. Despite the weak momentum, XRP remains within a long-term ascending channel that has shaped its price action across several market cycles.
The token is now trading close to the lower boundary of that channel, an area that has historically acted as support. Cryptollica argued that deeply negative market sentiment combined with an intact higher-timeframe structure could create conditions for a potential recovery.
EGRAG Crypto also pointed to XRP’s two-month RSI, which has returned to a zone associated with previous market-bottoming phases. According to the analyst, the behavior of momentum within this region may be more significant than the precise RSI reading, as similar setups previously appeared before major price expansions.
However, technical signals do not yet confirm that XRP has established a bottom. Analyst ChartNerd noted that XRP remains trapped between its 20-week exponential moving average near $1.29 and 50-week EMA resistance around $1.52.
The $1.29 level is particularly important. A sustained daily or weekly close below this support could expose XRP to another decline toward the psychological $1.00 level. The presence of lower highs and lower lows on intermediate timeframes also indicates that consolidation and downside risk remain.
XRP therefore sits at a critical technical crossroads. Its record-low RSI, long-term channel support and deeply bearish sentiment suggest unusually stretched conditions, while the $1.29 support level remains crucial. Holding that zone could strengthen the case for stabilization, but a decisive breakdown may shift attention toward $1.00 as the next major XRP price target.
