Vinny Lingham’s Crypto Reserve Poll Sparks Debate.

Internet entrepreneur Vinny Lingham recently polled his X followers on whether the U.S. government’s proposed digital asset reserve should include altcoins like XRP, ETH, and SOL or remain Bitcoin-only. Nearly 62% of respondents favored Bitcoin exclusively, while 38.1% supported adding altcoins. The poll garnered just under 1,000 votes.

The concept of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve was introduced by pro-crypto Senator Cynthia Lummis last summer, with former President Donald Trump backing the idea during his campaign. The proposal suggested the U.S. government acquire 200,000 BTC annually for five years. After taking office, Trump signed an executive order forming a task force to evaluate the feasibility of such a reserve.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse opposed a Bitcoin-only reserve, arguing that the entire crypto industry should benefit. Reports suggest Ripple has been lobbying to include XRP, with Garlinghouse meeting the U.S. president to discuss the matter. Many Bitcoin advocates have criticized Ripple’s push, believing BTC should remain the sole asset in the reserve.

As debates continue, Bitcoin has seen a 2.51% price increase in the past 24 hours, now trading at $102,000.
