Bitget plans to launch Open Custody Network (OCN), a system designed to let eligible users access its trading services while keeping their assets with independent custodians.

The planned network would connect banks, custodians and other professional financial institutions with Bitget’s trading infrastructure. It would use asset mapping to link independently held assets with the exchange’s services, allowing eligible users to access spot, leveraged and contract trading while retaining independent custody.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said OCN is intended to let users choose how their assets are held while maintaining access to trading liquidity and using capital more efficiently.

The plan follows Bitget’s earlier expansion of institutional custody and settlement partnerships, part of a broader strategy to give institutions more options for managing assets and accessing markets.
