Janus Henderson Investors has expanded its Avalanche presence into network validation and onchain credit, taking an equity stake in Tranched and planning anchor capital for future issuances beyond its tokenized fund activity.

The Sept. 16 moves add a network operations role alongside the firm’s fund activity. Validators handle transaction processing and contribute to Avalanche’s security. Janus Henderson plans to provide anchor capital for Tranched’s issuances.

Tranched had $300 million in onchain assets and an active pipeline of more than $3 billion. The pipeline consists of prospective deals, not credit already issued. Janus Henderson Group had approximately $500 billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2026.

The new role builds on the firm’s tokenized fund work on Avalanche. A July 2025 plan targeted up to $250 million in deployment through Grove, and Grove deployed $250 million into the tokenized Janus Henderson Anemoy AAA CLO Fund during the third quarter of 2025. A tokenized Treasury fund was also part of the earlier Avalanche plan.

For U.S. readers, the tokenized products have different eligibility from a U.S.-listed fund: the tokenized CLO and Treasury funds are open to non-U.S. professional investors. The tokenized CLO fund is separate from Janus Henderson’s U.S.-listed AAA CLO exchange-traded fund, although both use JAAA. Eligible JTRSY and JAAA holders can access immediate USDC liquidity through the Symbiotic Liquid Lane service while their shares follow regular redemption schedules.

Nick Cherney, Janus Henderson’s head of innovation, said Oct. 14 that the firm had yet to deeply integrate blockchain into its own operations: “We haven't deeply integrated on our side yet either.”
