Charles Schwab has completed direct Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) trading for eligible retail clients and is beginning crypto transfers in stages. The brokerage manages about $13.33 trillion in client assets and has 40.3 million active brokerage accounts.

Schwab Crypto charges 0.75% of each trade’s value. Orders range from $1 to $2 million. Transfers currently support the Bitcoin and Ethereum networks, and clients must register withdrawal addresses in advance.

The transfer rollout follows the service’s earlier launch phase. Schwab first offered BTC and ETH trading to clients in May 2026, and is now expanding transfer access in stages.

Schwab plans to add Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Chainlink (LINK) trading by the end of 2026. The service is unavailable to clients in New York, Louisiana, U.S. territories and international markets.
