Amazon is weighing a roughly $7 billion acquisition of AI infrastructure startup Decart, a deal that would give the technology giant software designed to move workloads between different AI chips.

Decart’s platform helps developers shift workloads between different AI chips.

The startup completed a $300 million funding round in May, bringing its valuation to about $4 billion. A potential $7 billion purchase would therefore represent a substantial premium to that valuation, although the discussions have not resulted in a final agreement.

Anthropic previously conducted due diligence on a potential acquisition of Decart valued at roughly $6 billion before abandoning the transaction.

Amazon’s discussions remain ongoing, and no completed transaction has been announced.
