Germany Posts €19.5 Billion Trade Surplus as August 2026 Exports Fall

Germany posted a €19.5 billion trade surplus in August 2026 as monthly exports declined and imports increased.
Calendar- and seasonally adjusted exports fell 0.8% from July to €137.6 billion. Imports rose 0.9% to €118.1 billion, leaving exports €19.5 billion above imports for the month.
Despite the monthly decline, exports were 6.2% higher than in August 2025. Imports also increased from a year earlier, rising 5.5%.
