U.S. U6 Unemployment Rate Falls to 7.6% in September

The rate was below the 7.7% forecast and down from 7.7% in August. The headline unemployment rate rose to 4.2%.

The U.S. U6 unemployment rate fell to 7.6% in September, below the 7.7% forecast, while the headline unemployment rate rose to 4.2%.

The U6 rate was 7.7% in August. The September reading therefore edged down 0.1 percentage point from the previous month and came in 0.1 point below expectations.

The headline unemployment rate reached 4.2% in September.
