Anthropic’s draft IPO filing shows rapid revenue growth alongside billions of dollars in losses and long-term computing commitments that could test the economics of advanced AI companies.

The Claude developer generated nearly $4.6 billion in revenue in 2025, about 12 times its 2024 total. Operating expenses reached roughly $12.65 billion, producing an operating loss of more than $8 billion.

Computing and infrastructure spending totaled about $7.33 billion, roughly 1.6 times annual revenue and more than half of total operating expenses. Anthropic also recorded a GAAP net loss of nearly $42 billion, including about $34 billion tied to higher fair values for convertible financing and other liabilities.

The company has committed to about $518 billion in cloud, computing and infrastructure payments over several years. The figure represents multiyear contractual obligations, not a single-year capital outlay, but it creates significant fixed commitments as Anthropic expands capacity.

Two customers supplied nearly one-quarter of 2025 revenue, while some large customers were not covered by long-term contracts. Anthropic confidentially submitted a draft S-1 registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on June 1, with the offering still subject to regulatory review and market conditions.
