X Partners With Coinbase, Kraken to Link Cashtags to Trading

Elon Musk’s X has expanded its financial market features by partnering with major cryptocurrency exchanges and stock brokers, allowing U.S. users to move directly from Cashtags on the platform to participating trading services.

The expanded X Cashtag Partner Program includes Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo. The initiative builds on Smart Cashtags, which transform ticker symbols for cryptocurrencies, stocks and exchange-traded funds into interactive pages featuring price data, charts and related conversations.

When users select a supported Cashtag, they can review an asset’s price chart and relevant posts before tapping a new “Trade” option. The feature redirects users to a participating crypto exchange or brokerage, where eligible customers can log in or create an account to complete a transaction.

X itself does not execute trades or custody customer funds. Participating financial companies remain responsible for account requirements, regulatory compliance, order execution and other trading services.

“Cashtags close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market itself,” X Product Engineering Lead Mridul Singhai said. The feature is designed to make it easier for users to move between market discussions, charts and external trading platforms.

Coinbase, Gemini and Kraken provide cryptocurrency trading services, while Interactive Brokers and Moomoo offer access to traditional financial markets. The assets available through each provider may vary depending on location, account eligibility and the platform’s individual offerings.

X has also introduced Big Charts for Smart Cashtags, offering larger interactive charts on iOS and the web. Supported assets and companies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, Hyperliquid, Tesla, Strategy and Coinbase.

Separately, X unveiled Grok 4.7, describing the artificial intelligence model as its most capable offering for coding and knowledge work, with twice the speed and half the price of Grok 4.6.

The Cashtag Partner Program is currently limited to U.S. users, and X has not announced a timeline for expanding the brokerage connections internationally.
