Galaxy Digital, the crypto and financial services firm led by Mike Novogratz, has announced plans to go public on the Nasdaq by May 16, pending final shareholder approval on May 9. The firm’s Class A common stock will trade under the ticker symbol GLXY, transitioning from its current listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Existing TSX-listed shares will remain active under the new CUSIP 36317J209, while over-the-counter BRPHF shares will be converted to Nasdaq-listed GLXY shares.

Novogratz shared the news on social media, highlighting that the move is part of a broader strategy to better serve both retail and institutional investors in the U.S. market. Listing on Nasdaq is expected to increase visibility, boost liquidity, and align Galaxy more closely with U.S. financial institutions. The company also signaled a deeper push into artificial intelligence (AI), citing the technology’s growing relevance in crypto and finance.

Galaxy Digital remains a key player in the digital asset sector. Despite selling 1,652 BTC worth around $89 million in September 2024, Novogratz remains strongly bullish on Bitcoin. He has recently suggested that Bitcoin could surpass gold’s market capitalization within five to eight years, reinforcing his long-term optimism.

The firm’s U.S. listing and AI focus mark a pivotal evolution in its mission to lead in digital finance and blockchain innovation. As institutional demand grows and AI becomes increasingly embedded in crypto infrastructure, Galaxy Digital aims to capitalize on both trends to fuel future growth and investor engagement.

This strategic Nasdaq move positions Galaxy Digital as a more accessible and influential player in the evolving crypto and fintech landscape.
