Cloudflare bets big on Ethereum, new gateway announced

It would appear that Cloudflare is ready to step it up with its blockchain game with the cloud service recently announcing a new gateway for Ethereum. This basically means that there is no need to install additional extensions or software into computers in order to interact with the blockchain.

In a recent blog post, Cloudflare explained what this new gateway is all about and how people can use it to take full advantage of Ethereum. The post even comes with an example to explain what Ethereum is about and what its gateway does for it. The post also puts an emphasis on the matter of smart contracts, which not many people may know about.

“Today, as part of Crypto Week 2019, we are excited to announce Cloudflare's Ethereum Gateway, where you can interact with the Ethereum network without installing any additional software on your computer,” the post reads.

It said that the gateway facilitates access to the Ethereum network, which clients can provision through their custom hostname.

“This setup makes it possible to add interactive elements to sites powered by Ethereum smart contracts, a decentralized computing platform. And, in conjunction with the IPFS gateway, this allows hosting websites and resources in a decentralized manner, and has the extra bonus of the added speed, security, and reliability provided by the Cloudflare edge network," it added.

Simply put, clients no longer need to do anything too special in order to access Ethereum on their chosen platforms for as long as this gateway exists. What’s more, this gateway is also completely free, CoinDesk reports. There is no need for clients to pay money in order to enjoy the benefits of the new gateway.
