Japanese cryptocurrency exchange bitFlyer has announced its partnership with technology services provider Tpoint Japan for a bitcoin-based rewards program.

Under the partnership, bitFlyer will launch “T-POINT Program” where users would be able to earn T-POINT rewards through its platform. T-POINT is a common point service used by 69.61 million people, over half the population of Japan.

“This program allows our users to use T-POINT to receive Bitcoin or earn T-POINT rewards when using Bitcoin to purchase products or services,” the press release reads.

According to the details, T-POINT 100 pt can be used to receive 85 JPY in Bitcoin. Also, users making bitcoin payments via bitFlyer Wallet at participating locations will receive T-POINT 1 pt for every 500 JPY equivalent spent. Participating locations include Bic Camera, Yamada Denki, H.I.S., and more.

“As part of our mission of “Making the world simpler with blockchain”, we will continue to contribute to the further development of a sound virtual currency industry,” bitFlyer said. “Tpoint Japan aims to turn their well-known points into ‘Points for people. Points for connecting people and society.’”

Last month, bitFlyer launched a new service in Europe to offer simplified bitcoin buying and selling services in the region. In addition, Japanese trading house Sumitomo partnered with bitFlyer Blockchain, a wholly-owned blockchain subsidiary of bitFlyer Holdings, to jointly develop a blockchain-based housing rental contract platform equipped with smart contract functionality.
