Samsung SDS, the IT subsidiary of Samsung, is planning to include blockchain technology in its enterprise solution packages, CoinDesk reported.

CEO Hong Won-pyo revealed the plans at the recently held Samsung’s Real 2019 event in Seoul. He presented the ‘Digital Transformation Framework’ as a package of tools that will help drive the successful digital transformation of the customers.

“The ‘Digital Transformation Framework’ systematically integrates Samsung SDS’s industry know-how and technological capabilities to support digital innovation of all business sectors including manufacturing, marketing/sales and management systems,” Samsung SDS said.

The package will feature several updates including intelligent enterprise and next generation ERP / SCM / IPA, intelligent factory (manufacturing / logistics / plant intelligence), cloud security, and innovative technology platforms (AI / block chain / IoT).

“We will support successful digital innovation of our customers with ‘Digital Transformation Framework’, a collection of Samsung SDS’s know-how and technological capabilities,” Won-pyo said.

Last month, Samsung SDS launched Nexledger Universal, the next version of its enterprise blockchain platform Nexledger which was first announced in 2017. Nexledger Universal provides standard API that is commonly applicable to Samsung SDS NCA (Nexledger Consensus Algorithm) and general blockchains such as Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum.

“Blockchain is a technology that is used in all areas of business including finance, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution,” said Hong Hyeong-jin, CEO of Samsung SDS’ Nexledger project. “We are upgrading the company’s blockchain platform at Nexledger to meet the demand.”
