North Korea is going to hold its first blockchain conference in April 2019, Ethereum World News reported.

According to a press release published on the official website of the DPR of Korea, the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Conference will be held from 18th to 25th April 2019 in Pyongyang. It will bring together international experts in the blockchain and crypto space to share their knowledge and vision, establish connections and discuss business opportunities.

While North Korea is opening its doors to the global blockchain and crypto community, the conference is not open to those belonging to South Korea, Japan, and Israel, as well as journalists.

The 8-day event will include visits to the Great People's Study House, Museum of the Korean War, Pyongyang University of Foreign Languages and a Secondary School, Kaesong, and Panmunjon (DMZ-Border between North and South Korea), and more.

The conference will take place on April 22 and 23 at the Pyongyang Science and Technology Complex. It is being organized by, in the DPRK side, Alejandro Cao de Benos, Special Delegate for the Committee for Cultural Relations and President of the Korean Friendship Association (KFA), and in the technical side, Chris Emms, Blockchain and Crypto expert.

The announcement further states:

“The DPRK can be considered the safest country in the world. As long as you have a basic common-sense and respect for the culture and belief of other nations, you'll be always welcome and enjoy like thousands of friends we've been hosting for the past 28 years and engaged in cultural, sports, science or business relations.”
