Binance Decentralized Exchange to support hardware wallets

Mon, 28 Jan 2019, 11:06 am UTC

Binance DEX, the decentralized exchange being developed by Binance – the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market cap, will support hardware wallets.

Binance CEO Zhao Changpeng made the announcement via a tweet on January 26.

Last month, Binance announced that its proprietary blockchain “Binance Chain” will be ready in the forthcoming months. It also released a preview of its planned decentralized exchange (DEX) and said:

“Binance DEX is a decentralized exchange built on top of Binance Chain, an upcoming blockchain where BNB will be the native coin. A community initiative, the DEX is being created with the support of Binance developers and technology, and is set to be released in early 2019.”

In the preview video, the team showed a new trading interface for the DEX, along with a web wallet and a blockchain explorer. Binance said that all of these features will be available on a testnet soon.

While Changpeng did not reveal which models and manufacturers of hardware wallets will be supported, the image in the tweet shows Ledger Nano S, Forklog reported.
