Tribe Accelerator, a Singaporean government supported blockchain accelerator, has announced its partnerships with BMW Group Asia, Intel Corporation and Nielsen.

In December 2018, venture capital firm TRIVE partnered with the government agency Enterprise Singapore, leading consultancy firm PwC Singapore, and ICON Foundation to launch Tribe Accelerator. Applications for the accelerator’s Batch 2 will open in April 2019.

According to the official release, the three companies will share their knowledge at the accelerator’s organized industry engagements. These engagements include a global demo tour covering Singapore, Seoul, San Francisco, and Shanghai.

CoinDesk reported that BMW Group Asia will hold mentoring sessions on how to implement blockchain solutions in the mass market.

“We hope we can help each of these startups develop their proof-of-concepts and reach the next stage of their development,” said Carsten Sapia, vice president – group IT and head of the Asia Pacific region, BMW Group Asia.

Intel will provide business and technical mentorship to the participating startups, while Nielsen will provide “a sandbox with the objective of providing participants with a safe, controlled environment to test new technologies and accelerate the adoption of their solutions.”

Michael Reed, Intel’s blockchain program director, said that the company’s technologies such as Intel Xeon Scalable processors and Intel SGX can help improve privacy, security, and scalability of blockchain solutions.

“To move forward as a society, we need to encourage experimentation, and once the benefits of blockchain technology become evident, mainstream adoption will undoubtedly follow,” Tribe Accelerator managing partner Ryan Chew said.
