Arizona Care Network (ACN), a physician-governed accountable care organization, will soon enable its patients with diabetes to use a healthcare blockchain network to manage their disease and optimize care with their physicians and families.
The Diabetes Care Administration Network, produced by a collaboration between healthcare platform Solve.Care and pharmaceutical leader Boehringer Ingelheim, will implement healthcare blockchain technology to improve the care of 25,000 ACN patients with diabetes, according to the press release.
The network will promote interaction between patients and healthcare providers to address the link between diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, as well as provide evidence-based recommendations to educate patients. It will implement Solve.Care’s blockchain-based Care.Wallets to support patients.
“The Diabetes Care Administration Network will help bridge a gap by providing a platform which offers vital information on diabetes and cardiovascular diseases in an easily accessible manner,” Solve.Care CEO Pradeep Goel said.
“This is invaluable in the healthcare ecosystem as it allows patients to gain a better understanding of their disease while also coordinating their care needs.”
ACN, on the other hand, will offer concierge care management and support care coordinators to boost outcomes for participating patients with diabetes.
The Diabetes Care Administration Network is slated to be launched by the end of this year. Furthermore, the results of the ACN launch will help Solve.Care and Boehringer Ingelheim evaluate expansion opportunities in the United States and globally.
